Saline tattoo Lightening/removal

Get rid of unwanted permanent makeup of tattooing.

Saline tattoo removal is a method used to lighten or remove tattoos by introducing a saline (salt) solution into the tattooed area. The process is similar to the tattooing process itself, but instead of injecting ink, a saline solution is used. Here's a brief overview of the procedure:

  1. Preparation: The skin is cleaned and prepped.
  2. Saline Injection: Using a tattoo machine or a manual hand tool, a technician or tattoo artist introduces a saline solution into the tattooed area. This process disrupts the ink and brings it up to the surface of the skin.
  3. Healing: Over the next few days, the skin will form a scab. As the scabbing process occurs, some of the tattoo ink is drawn out of the skin.
  4. Multiple Sessions: Depending on the size, type, and color of the tattoo, multiple sessions may be required to achieve the desired results. There should be 8 weeks between sessions to allow the skin to heal properly.
  5. Results: Saline tattoo removal can lighten tattoos, but complete removal is not always guaranteed. The results vary based on the individual's skin type, the age of the tattoo, the type of ink used, and the skill of the technician.

Advantages:

  • It's considered a more natural method compared to laser tattoo removal since it uses a salt solution.
  • It can be effective on older tattoos that haven't responded well to laser treatments.
  • It may cause less scarring compared to other methods.

Salt/Saline removal works on the theory of “Osmosis”

Osmosis is a process by which molecules of a solvent (water) tend to pass through a semi permeable membrane (skin) from a less concentrated solution into a more

concentrated one. This achieves the same amount of concentration on each side of the membrane…called

Equalization.

Introducing a high concentration of salt water to the dermis where the pigment is ,creates the process

of Osmosis. Water in the cells beneath the pigment contain lower amounts of salt and water will rise to the area containing higher concentrations of salt.

Equalization forces the pigment from the dermal layer up to the epidermis by Osmotic pressure. This is a natural process to become equal to the higher concentration of salt and water. The pigment becomes trapped in the scab and when the scabs falls off some of the pigment goes with it

Aloe Vera to aid in skin conditioning

Sterile water -- distilled or filtered water is not safe enough

- Tattooing skin after it has been lasered is often unsuccessful due to scar tissue and an alteration to the skin  by the laser.

- Laser can permanently remove brow hair

- Lasers may turn titanium (white pigment) black or gray, Saline can lift it from the skin

-Laser pushes pigment back down into the body, Saline lifts it up and out of the body

-Pain level

-Saline is not color restricted

Saline Tattoo Lightening allows us to remove pigment from the brows, lips, eyes, and majority of the body. Most laser removal will not remove tattoos from the lip or eyes due to the risks of laser damage to those areas. With saline removal those risks are not the same so we can remove migrated eyeliners and unwanted lip tattooing.

As with any procedure there are risks. In this case, people with darker skin tones are at risk of hyperpigmentation (skin turns darker) and hypopigmentation (skin turns lighter).  While hyperpigmentation and hypopigmentation can return to normal over time, it may take a while. When it comes to deciding if you should move forward, communication is key. Make sure your technician has explained the process and you have weighed the options.

How many sessions will depend on many

different variables:

The pigment to be removed?

- How many layers?

- Is there Titanium?

- How deep was it implanted?

- How saturated is the pigment?

- Where on the body are we removing?

- Oily vs. dry skin?

- The client’s own skin and healing process?

- The client after care regimen?

- How much pigment needs to be removed?

Given these factors, we can only estimate the number of sessions. No guarantees will be given. However if you trust the process we can achieve your desired results.
